Entertainment One acquires the rights for a Black Jack television series
thefutoncritic recently reported that Entertainment One announced the acquisition of the worldwide rights to develop a television series based on Osamu Tezuka's manga Black Jack (1973-83). The LA/Toronto-based indie studio, that produces ABC’s Rookie Blue and distributes AMC’s The Walking Dead, plans in all probability a live action series of Osamu Tezuka's classic manga.
Taka Ichise and Doug Davison, who worked together on Western adaptations of the Japanese movies, such as The Ring and The Grudge, will executive produce the series for eOne.
