Fashion Label Lacoste Pays Tribute to the "God of Manga"
The high end fashion label Lacoste announced a collection of polos, t-shirts and footwear inspired by the cast of characters of Osamu Tezuka’s critical acclaim manga series' to pay tribute to the "God of Manga". The brand collaborated with Hiroaki Ohya, a designer who is famous and well-known for his futuristic as well as experimental works, on a variety of fashion articles. Hiroaki Ohya previously worked with Tezuka Productions to produce the ‘Astro Boy by Ohya’ collection in 1999.
For the Spring/Summer 2013 collection, which hits Lacoste L!ve stores worldwide in May 2013, Ohya chose The Mysterious Underground Man, Astro Boy and Black Jack. For the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 delivery in August, he picked The Phoenix, Crime and Punishment and Jungle Emperor Leo.
It’s All Style To Me added a sneak peek video to their YouTube channel, which features an interview with Ohya, from the of Lacoste headquarters in New York City, as well as a first look at some of the polo shirts from the upcoming Lacoste L!ve Osamu Tezuka Collection.
