Showings will focus on recent series including the 2003 TV adaptations of Black Jack, Phoenix and Astro Boy.
- 11/25/2008: Barnes&Noble.com hosts translated sample of new 'Motion Manga' of Phoenix Karma
Motion manga are made by scanning manga images and showing them in a slideshow format with music and actors reading the dialogue. Many popular manga have been redone as motion manga in Japan including most Tezuka classics. This is the first English version of such a motion manga. They are commonly viewed on cell phones in Japan.

- New Treasure Island finally to be reprinted in Japanese
Tezuka's first published graphic novel has been out of print for many years due to his own dissatisfaction with the roughness of the original, but it will now finally be reprinted in Japanese, for its "historic value" according to spokesman.

- Publisher's weekly hosts preview of Dark Horse Astro Boy re-release.
Astro Boy manga vols. 1 & 2 have been out of print for several years. This low-cost re release reproduces the original Dark Horse translation.

- 04/21/2008: Digital Manga Publishing licenses Swallowing the Earth for English release
- This will be DMP's first Tezuka release. Swallowing the Earth is a dark series similar to Vampires and Alabaster, focusing on the ice queen Zephyrus, seen in Black Jack as the Black Queen.
- 06/02/2008: Live action MW movie planned
- Director Hitoshi Iwamoto and the writing team which scripted the Death Note movies will work together on the film adaptation of the MW manga, one of Tezuka's darkest and most adult titles. No animated version exists.
- 4/23/2008: 2008 Eisner Nominations Posted
- Two of Vertical's US Tezuka releases were nominated, Apollo's Song for Best Archival Collection/Project and MW for Best U.S. Edition of International Material. Naoki Urasawa's Tezuka-inspired suspense series Monster received two nominations including Best Continuing Series. Vertical's edition of Buddha Eisners for Best U.S. Edition of Foreign Material in 2004 and 2005, as well as a 2005 Harvey for best American Edition of Foreign Material. More.
- 3/03/2008: Princess Knight remake manga planned
- Writer of Moyashimon and artist of Pichi Pichi Pitch team up to produce remake manga Sapphire: Princess Knight. It will run in Kodansha's Nakayoshi Shoujo magazine, the same which ran the original.
