01/14/2009: Urasawa's 20th Century Boys movie to screen at Santa Barbara film festival Jan 22-Feb 1
First of three 20th Century Boys movies has had no other US release to date. While not based on a Tezuka work, Urasawa's manga is heavily influenced by Tezuka, and he is the author of the Astro Boy adaptation Pluto.
1/16/2009: Los Angeles theater to screen Mushi Pro's Belladonna Jan 16th.
Experimental film does not have Tezuka officially on its staff but is a product of the experimental adult animation spearheaded at his studio. In Japan Belladonna was recently re-released in a pack with Tezuka's Cleopatra and Arabian Nights films. It has had no other US release.
