I can speak/write/read Dutch and English fluently. I can read German pretty good, but haven't spoken it for years, so conversation is kinda rusty. I can read and speak French with some effort, though it's been years since I last did either ~_~ I can speak/understand Cantonese OK (not very good, but it ain't bad), can't read though.

And I can read (ancient) Greek and Latin, though it has been several years since I last translated texts. I wonder if I can still pull it off as fast and good as I used too ^_^; And these last months I have been trying to learn Japanese a bit, so I know some basics of that language. Probably going to study it at university after I finish my economics this year.

I am a native English speaker, I speak/read/etc. Japanese (well enough to live here) and I took three years of Mandarin Chinese and studied Spanish for two years.

I can speak (and write) without much problems: German and English (at leats I hope so lol). I'm also quite ok in French (not that much in writing, but I can read it very good). Well my mother tongue is Swiss German, if that counts as a language too :D At least it's one funny thing (which really hasn't much in common with normal German).

I can understand a little bit of Japanese, but can't read at all (except for some Hiragana which doens't help much -.-). And thanks to French and English it's also possible for me to read Spanish a little bit (but I can't follow conversations nor can I write it). But as that doesn't really counts since it's really only small knowedge, I'll stay with English, German and French :D

Being able to pick out a few sentences of Chinese isn't shabby at all, given how challenging the language is. It's supposed to be one of the hardest on Earth.

Everyone knowing a lot of languages just goes to show that (1) manga, especially Tezuka manga, atract people who are interested in learning and studying other cultures, and (b) manga are a great way to work at other languages when your reading level isn't up to full fluency yet.

Oh I guess German or Swiss German can beat Dutch in being illogical lol (or at least is equal :D)...but I guess this depends on your mother tongue again.

I find finnish very difficult. And chinese as well. Japanese is rather easy to pronounce for me...but Chinese, I guess I'll never learn that. *_*
