The teaser trailer for the adaptation of Buddha is up on ANN. I like the animation (especially the scene where the animals are running together) and it seems they're going the same way other animated works of Tezuka's manga by modernizing the character designs (which is fine).

I'm just glad to see a new take on a Tezuka classic, just like I was excited to watch the Phoenix series... I already know it can't beat the original, but what it can do is add voices to characters we love, bring them to life via animation and add music to the drama. In other words, make a film! I love those things.

I'm a bit disappointed that the budget is only 11 million though. As a fan of animation, I know it takes a lot of money to produce good looking animation with fluid movements.
