I’m very sorry to announce this, but veteran actor Goro Naya has passed away on March 5, 2013 from chronic respiratory failure. Goro Naya has been involved in the Japanese acting industry for more than 50 years. He has been battling throat cancer for several years.

He voiced many roles, including ones in anime, narration, radio dramas and dubbing. He’s most known for voicing Zenigata (Lupin III), Captain Okita (Space Battle Ship Yamato) and the Great Leader from the Kamen Rider series. He also was responsible for dubbing for the roles of popular Hollywood actors such as John Wayne and Charlton Heston.

Goro Naya also voice acted various Tezuka characters. He provided the voice of Dr. Yamanoue (Jetter Mars), Shiki Haruhiko(Blue Blink), and Lord Nylon(Princess Knight). He also voiced guest characters from Big X and for the 3 Astro Boy series.

His funeral was attended only by relatives, however, there will be a memorial gathering in the near future.
