Devil of the Earth, The (Manga)

Originally referred to as Earth 1954, Osamu Tezuka's The Devil of the Earth (1954) first appeared as a New Year’s supplemental insert to Adventure King, in January 1954. It is one of six seasonal supplements Tezuka did for the periodical, including X-Point in the South Pacific (1953) and Lemon Kid (1953).

Adventure/Manga King

Also known as 冒険王 (Boken-o) and 漫画王 (Manga-o), these manga sister-publication were published in Japan by Akita Shoten, and feature many of Tezuka's action suplements, such as Lemon Kid and The Devil of the Earth.

Age of Adventure (Manga)

The Age of Adventure, also known as "West Rush", was originally published in Akita Shoten's monthly Adventure King from January 1951 to August 1953. It is partially based on Tezuka's earlier amateur work, Old Man's Treasure Island from 1945.

Dororo (Manga)

Tezuka's signature samurai series, Dororo (1967-69) was originally published in Weekly Shonen Sunday from August 1967 to July 1968. After a hiatus the manga series concluded its run in Adventure King in 1969 to coincide with the release of the animated television show.
