is Adolf good or bad?

Ok so I know that Adolf and Message to Adolf are the same story, but just re-translated so is Adolf even good or is it just a bad translation?

Adolf by Viz? Or Message to Adolf by Vertical? I haven't checked on Viz's translation, but Vertical's is top-notch. Vertical's books are MUCH better quality, too.

Only problem being that Vertical's version is missing some context i have them both and i actually went back and forward to edition's cause the VIZ version has pages that actually explain what happening in the world which does impact also what is going on in the story, nd it was made by Tezuka himself !!!
Don't know why they did not include it perhaps they where just like why would we care or something ... which is weird cause you think Vertical is the kind of company to do stuff like this, alot of the Tezuka stuff they did publish had some kind of historical impact (if not everything) though most the stuff they publish now you would hardly say so anyway ...
Since they went away from Tezuka i have hardly picked up any vertical to begin with.
Anyway if you are a completist like me you would go as far to get the VIZl version even if it's out of print.

Hey Tetsuwan Atomu, can you share some examples of the Viz version having extra background info? I have both editions, but the Viz one's aren't handy and I would like to include that kind of information on our English Translations page.

I own one volume that was published by Cadence Books (is that some offshoot property owned by Viz?) and there was a foreword by someone who worked on the translation regarding the cover designs, and I think some historical background. There might be stuff actually written by Tezuka in the other volumes, but in this one, there wasn't anything like that. This particular volume was Days of Infamy (second-to-last), so perhaps earlier volumes would have background info from Tezuka?
