Tezuka In English Discussion Forums

Over the last few days I've visited the site several times, sometimes using links I'd saved and sometimes direct. Every link now refers me to a new opening screen called TezukaOsamu.net. There are new foreign language links to the overseas publishers and licensees.

The whole site has a very elegant new design, but there does not appear to be any way to access the huge amount of information about Tezuka's life and work in English that used to be on the old site. Maybe this is coming later.

Speaking from experience, it takes a while to update websites. Hell, my stupid webmanga site took me four days to load up and it's bare bones!

That will be interesting. I'd like to be a fly on the wall during the discussions with existing licensees. "Yes, people will be able to get everything they now buy from you in English (or Korean) free online.. and we're digitally colouring it all..."

I think this was probably changed to appease the various holders of publishing rights world wide. I do not expect any return to the older style with English-language pages.

Edit, added:I did note the numerous ads for other companies' products; this combined with the greatly reduced amount of content indicates that money may also be a factor in the changes.
