Tezuka In English Discussion Forums

In the upcoming 3rd annual ELAN Awards, Osamu Tezuka is nominated for an Animation Industry Honorary Award: Lifetime Achievement in Animation. He is nominated as posthumous of course.

Interestingly he will be competing against Hayao Miyazaki for the nomination. For those interested the full list of nominees are:

Phillip Bradley Bird
Hayao Miyazaki
John Lasseter
Michael Craig Judge
Nick Park

Posthumous:
Charles Martin "Chuck" Jones
Dr. Osamu Tezuka
Frederick Avery
Norman McLaren
Isadore "Friz" Freleng

I think list list is pretty well put together, and would love to put a vote in. Unfortunately this category falls under the categories not available to public voting (only peers and industry).

Anyway I thought I'd bring this up (since Osamu Tezuka name is involved). Here is the link to were you could place your vote (if your in the industry or are a peer)

"Frederick Avery"? I heard of Tex Avery, I assume these are the same guy.

Anyway, just the Posthumous competition is really tough; although this is my 1st exposure to the name Norman McLaren , as well as most of the living nominees' names.

However, I'm saddened to see that one of the Fleischers isn't on the list
