Astro: Strongest Robot in the World Question (spoiler)

This is a spoiler.

So, Dark Horse prints things out of order, and it makes me upset.

Well, I read the Pluto story, and Epsilon dies!:O

Does she stay dead or do they rebuild her in a later story!?

I was spoiled on the new 2003 cartoon (bought the boxed set) Where Astro manages to save her and she is repaired/rebuilt.

I thought the same happened in the series!

She was one of my favorite characters in the cartoon.

: sigh : But I guess there is no hope for her. I still don't see why they couldn't just rebuild/repair her circuitry!

Is Epsilon a she? O_o I always assumed E was a he.

Anyway, he/she stays dead/broken. It wouldn't make that big an impact if they could repair all the damage Pluto did, ne?

I editted the title of this thread to be a little more clear. I'm not sure if this could be considered a "spolier" or not, but I left it intact.

It's probably a moot point anyway... but I've always considered Epsilon a "he" as well. The fact that he/she is a robot probably means it doesn't matter anyway, but I do echo your sentiments about the destruction of Epsilon.

The Strongest Robot in the World is () my favourite of Tezuka's Astro stories, and Epsilon was my favourite robot (along with Mont Blanc.... but he never gets any good press... cut down before his prime...). Having him sacrifice himself to save the orphans was a noble act worthy of Astro, but like Ash said, it would lessen the story to just have everyone happily repaired at the end.
