I think they did an excellent job with Astro's face.

Don't forget, Astro was created by Doctor Tenma to look exactly like his real life little boy.

Therefore, Astro should look more like a human than other robots.

I think people are just too used to the very inhuman looking humans of Tezuka's artistry.

Agreed. My only complaint is his "upgrade" from briefs to boxers. They look odd on him, but if that's all I can complain about, they're doing something right.

Leading female voice. Hmm... Could this mean Astrogirl.

I looked up some clips of her on YouTube. She's very bubbly and happy and seems like a cool person -- if she pitched up her voice just a bit, she'd make an excellent Uran.

I think..he looks too much like that one kid from Meet the Robinsons. I know that Tenma designed him to look like a real boy, but I don't think he looks 'moe' enough..

I like the shiny boots, and the hair. I think what's getting me is the eyes - he's lost his signature eyelashes, and the eyes are a different shape, slightly pointy on the bottom inside corners near his nose instead of being symmetrically oval there, it gives his face a different mood, more mischief than wonder. His eyes are also closer to circular here, where originally they're very tall narrow ovals. What may be getting a lot of us is actually his mouth expression, since I just flipped through my whole collection of astro pics and didn't see a single one where he's smiling with his mouth closed - Astro smiles with his mouth open. Probably when we see him with a more traditionally astro-like open-mouthed smile he'll look more right. For now it looks like a different kid dressed as Astro...
