Was satellite R-45 the inspiration for the 2003 episode concerning the Robot Gladiator Contest and the origin of the Blue Knight (who seeks justice?)

The slimey guy was in this episode, and so was a robot cop!

I do not think that there was any relationship between these stories. The story of the BK was first told in the manga (vol. 19), and it was also the 179th & 180th episodes of the B&W series. I have seen both, & can tell you, these are the origins of the 2003 BK.
