Ok, it's been a day or two. If someone would just tell me whose in charge of Astro Boy DVD releases (is it Sony Pictures?). I'd be glad to look up their address and help to organize a letter-writing campaign.

I think it would be a very effective way to get our views across.

As far as petitions go, let's look at the numbers...

Update: Finding a workable address on their horrible website (http://www.sonypictures.com/) is a pain. This might take awhile.

I would be delighted to get uncut versions with english subtitles of 1960 and 1980 Astroboy series, as well as the 2003 series. If they would become available I would buy them.
For that matter I'd do the same for Kimba.

Sapphire, the R1 1980 Astroboy set is subtitled. I don't recall if there are any cuts-- I think there may be a single 'missing' episode that was never dubbed into English, and so was not included with the release. One of the Astroboy experts will have to chime in.

What's availability like on the Region 3 (Korean) Astroboy 2003 releases? I've heard nothing but good things about those discs...

My sets are all region 4 since I live in Australia. The first two Japanese episodes were edited together to make the single first English dub episode. Both those uncut episodes are included with subtitles as part of my sets special features.
Thanks for telling me about region 1's uncut release Mike. I shall look into it some time.

I know for the 80's series that cut scenes were never dubbed at all, not sure about the 2003 series. Funny how both shows have one missing episode, correct me if I'm wrong. But sure, I'll sign. :3
