Perseverance is not immaturity

For those who have watched the series Tetsuwan Atom and have read the original manga is possible to note the message of perseverance.

In the series our favourite characters have shown that they love to live the way which they are as seem in stories like Atom's Stolen (1951 manga and 1963 anime), The Man Who Returned From Mars (1951 manga) and Eternal Boy (2003 series).

Some may think that having a child body can be a problem for a robot in the future, however, it's not true...

A body is not something which can be replaced with another and is precious, even maturity is not enough to tell that a child robot should change bodies and become an adult robot.

After all the body is a part of the robot itself and is what the robot have to interact with the world around him or her and is with that same body which the robot have their experiences which no one would understand better than them.

For example, there are human children who had grow up with deformed limbs at birth like deformed hands, however when they grow up and become adults they cannot just have it extracted and replaced with cybernetic implants.

And it's not mature to tell that a adult man should replace a deformed hand with a prostetic one, after all that person had experiences which a perfect fit human would never understand.

A part of ourselves is not something which can be just replaced just to fit with other people around us, so it's doesn't make sense saying that a child lrobot should cast away a child like body away and get a adult one.

That same child like robot will always have experiences which no human and neither adult like robot will understand.

Perseverance is not immaturity, but wisdom and no adult human who had born with deformed limbs will have them extracted just to get prostetic ones.

So, Atom and Uran's wish to stay being what they are is not immaturity since casting a part of themselves just to fit people around them would never satisfy them.

After all, why leaving behind a part of yourself just to fit in a community?

Anyone is able to live according to their limitations and find a place in the world, what the person needs is to struggle to live no matter how is their physical condiction.

Also, it's cruel to tell that a man with deformed arm should amputate it and replace with prostetic just to find work for example.

A robot should be happy of being just a robot and not try to live and die like a human, that was already show in the 2003 series and besides bodies are not outfits which can be swapped and threw away, since they're precious parts of the robot itself.

It feels rather emotionless to think that Atom should discard the body which he lives and become an adult robot, after all his body would be missed, the series even shown that he is aware how he would miss his child like body in the story "Atom's Stolen".

In Nichijou there is a character named Nano who was always upset with her wind up key in her back that she wanted it to be removed, when it happens in the ending she end up missing it and wishing it back since it was a part of herself and represented what she was.

Losing parts of ourselves would always make us miss them...

It's ok to have different opinions, but perseverance is the best message and lesson in life.

Think about it, it's really easy to remove a deformed limb and replace with prostetics?

Something which is a part of yourself is not something to be threw away and in Atom and Uran's case, they would never want to cast something away something which is part of themselves like their own bodies and take adult bodies as if they would not miss a part of themselves..

I do not intent to discourage different opinions, but is worth to understand that pointing perseverance as the characters motivations is not intended to offend anyone.

Having perseverance is the best thing for those who have an disability, it doesn't help to just give up when it occur and is not an disability which can hinder our future, we can still find a way to live no matter how harsh is.
