Sceptical even cynical, or sometimes resentful, of anything beyond the natural world including love, altruism and god. (But does he secretly want there to be something more...?)
Not always the savior - sometimes the patient dies. Has an unadmitted wish to help the little guy. Looks for chances to stick it to the big guy.
Does not go out of his way to help others or take on patients, however much in need. Often even seems disinterested in helping.
But when someone does become his patient, he is obsessed and will do anything.
Deals with a disfiguring disability.
