Oh, I actually waited a year for this one until I gave in and imported the Japanese only version.

The thing is, the distributor, Sony, has never released a single catalog anime title on Blu-ray, other than two Final Fantasy movies, which are in CGI so it doesn't count. There is no doubt that they are in absolutely no hurry to release this. The best time would frankly have been either when Astro Boy came out, or when the complete cut of Fritz Lang's Metropolis came out.
