Has anyone got a copy of ?
I'm thinking about buying a copy off Amazon.ca, but I was just curious if anyone's read it or has any thoughts about it.
Interesting point of advertising to note: I wasn't extremely interested in it until I saw the new cover image.... It's strange how much of a difference that it made in my level of desire to buy. The second image below looks amateurish and makes me judge the book by it's cover.
This one
is much better than this one

Oh I agree with you Strobe, the new cover is better.
I dunno; 200 pages for $17. I might wait a bit on this one. What I'd love to see is a translation of Tezuka's biography by Tetsuo Sakurai. Perhaps this book will include excerpts?

I intend to buy it, but not until after I finish Fred Patten's book.

I began reading it, & it seems very interesting. By page 50, the text is just begiining to cover Tezuka's early works. It has already covered his youth and the things that influenced him.
Upon flipping through it before actually beginning the reading, I noticed the actors' fee schedule, although it was in Japanese, I expect that the text should discuss it.
I am now on page 63, and not at all disappointed with it. Most recently, it went into depth about his cinematic styles; I found that very interesting.

Dude, don't apologize. Thanks for taking the time to go through it. It sounds like more of an autobiography than the Astroboy Essays which is very much welcomed by me (the former seems too focused on Astroboy--a strategy I think backfired on the author.)
I'll take your review as a recommendation, though don't know when I'll get around to reading it.
