Another Tezuka nut

Postby volpino » Sat May 09, 2009 3:17 am

I started reading Tezuka about a year ago -- actually I've had 8 volumes of Black Jack for some years, but I'm buying it again now, in a better edition.

A friend wanted to buy my old books, but I wouldn't let him have them... unless he payed an astronomical amount! So I kept them. (Dr. Black Jack would be so proud)

Reading his manga has 'spoiled' me for other comics, because of his second-to-none storytelling and great composition, now I find reading other comics very hard and annoying. Not to mention the stories and art.

I have a particular interest in Tezuka because I draw comics myself, and he's been a huge influence for me. I've been trying for months to find info on him and how he worked, but it seems to be very scarce. I'm particularly interested in any books written by himself, I know he's written at least one biography, and books on drawing manga. Are any of these translated into English? (or Spanish, French, Italian)

Well, that's a little introduction of myself, see you later at the forums!
