Well, in my opinion at least... Yes, Viz did stop publishing after two volumes. That just sucks. Hey, why don't you guys join the online petition? That is, if you haven't yet. Black Jack is just awesome. I like especially the character himself. I have anyway a huge love for poor misunderstood rebels who play the evil guy but in reality are just lovable

Also the stories are, because they are so short, very dynamic and even if they cover serious topics as stated above, they're easy reading somehow.

Viz should really publish those again.

Black Jack was my second and my favorite Tezuka work!! You are definitely missing out! It has that same appeal that Law & Order has of not getting too angsty with the characters, but giving you just enough information about them to make them real and deep. <3
