At least one guy knew who he was. That means that not all hope is lost. xDD

I wasn't to interested in Astro Boy until about a month a go or so. It would be nice to find it at a bookstore around here. I think the borders had it in stock... *brain fries from thinking*
I didn't know Pluto was based on Astro Boy. That's an interesting bit of info.

Yeah, I was saddened by it. I thought maybe I could find something Black Jack because it seems to be slowly growing in popularity thanks to the English release of the manga. But I found nothing...

Thanks, I have to look into that! I am up to date with the Black Jack manga though. Sadly, I've been too busy ordering Black Jack that I haven't ordered any more volumes of Phoenix or Buddha. D:

Yeah, him and that one lady. I actually had a whole convesation with the one lady I met with the fan because she said she got it from the Tezuka Manga Musem. When she said she went there I had a spazz attack. XD

A very kind friend got me a gift card for Barns and Nobles, so If I can order some stuff online, I may consider ordering that lovely volume 1+2 of Astro Boy.

Yeah, I read that Pluto was based on "The Worlds Strongest Robot" from Astro Boy.

Something random that I remembered. On the way to the con, there was a gigantic billboard for a casino that said "BLACK JACK IS HERE" in big black and white letters. I couldn't help but giggle. Anyway that's the closest I got to finding anything Black Jack.

Cool! If I ever need to find a book I'll look there. I got Phoenix off of Border's online. Barnes and Nobles store may be better as far as prices though.

God that would be awesome. I've seen pictures of the store there and died!

I keep meaning to order Astro Boy, along with everything else.

Pluto does look interesting, I picked it up at the book store and flipped through it.

Anime and Gambling-- what could go wrong?

I like the fact the Midtown has such a wide selection. It makes finding things a good deal easier. I'm going to have to check the Borders and Barnes and Noble websites. I checked the Borders search at the store but didn't see it... >>
D'you think that Walmart might have pheonix? I searched manga on their website and found a whole lot of it.

They have commercials that always distract me because they say "There's a new star at the casino. Black Jack" and "Black Jack is here.". I think I've yelled "No he's not!" at the TV.

Walmart would never carry Phoenix. Borders and Barnes and Nobles on the other hand had it :

I got MW as a rather unusual valentines gift the year before last: I'd gushed about Astro and Kimba to my boyfriend who lives in the US and he sent me a valentines package with Clamp manga, a Dark Horse Astro Book and this crazy book.

It turned out my boyfriend made the mistake of assuming everything Tezuka would be like Unico, Astro and Kimba. Plus admittedly I knew nothing about MW prior to that so reading it was...interesting. It's both the most disturbing yet one of the most awesome Valentines gifts ever as the book itself is compelling and it reminds me how thoughtful my boyfriend can be! (I might never of read the whole manga if he had not sent it my way, I dont normally touch thrillers)

Also lead me to rediscover Tezuka past the popular characters, picked up Apollos Song last year and really enjoyed it
