yes. We are lucky.
I try to give at least $30-50 a year in canned food drives. To tell the truth I'm rarely a big spender when it comes to giving people gifts, but my mom really did need that scanner, plus I may be able to use it to make back some money.

Reminds me, my mom spent a great deal of time after buying several babydolls this summer for $10 each. She made clothes and beds and pajamas for them all and gave them to a doll drive.
It was money we didn't have but still, it made several girls very happy.
that is what is important. Let's not forget that helping others is also good.

Aye, you were lucky. I received only 1 notable 'gift'; a Karloff 4 movie DVD set. My only interest in this was its 4th film, The Boogie Man Will Get You, which, rather than being a horror film, is more a light comedy, but having horror/sci-fi elements. The other 3 films were all shown on TCM last Oct. I bought myself Pluto vols 2-5, & Welcome Foolish Mortals..., a biography of Paul Frees, whose many voices include Burgermeister Meisterburger & the Pillsbury Doughboy.
