David is right. The important point to learn from all this is that you should THINK before you speak, or type. I can't imagine another reason to say "Japan has never been a fair player in anything" than to actually want the thread to go on a multiple page debate that goes away from the main issue.

Given how many treaties Japan has willfully violated as of late, it's not that big of a stretch to give that statement.

Japan has strove to earn the negative attention that has been given to it over the last two decades. However incorrect it may be from a statistical standpoint, it is logical to assume that people who Japan has pissed off would consider their actions to be "everything" i.e. as of issues of meaning which pertain directly to their personal judgment regarding the country.

My point to you, David, is this isn't a racist comment (as to which you were clearly alluding earlier), and it isn't just a random shot in the dark/offensive comment. There's a great deal of foundation to that emotional criticism.

Now, if you also look at my two posts, I said that metropolis forever shouldn't say anything/everything. My only assumption as to why you insisted on making another post where you repeated what you have already said 3 times is to carry on the argument. Both of you made commentary in your posts which are extreme, my point was for both of you to stop it.

You should really know me by now. I don't make claims such as that if there wasn't some foundation to them, and I will gladly start making quotations of your own words if you want to turn this into a prolonged argument.


The reason why I'm posting this is because of one very good reason:

Metropolis has been given a second chance, and there's no doubt you don't like him. I've seen this kind of posting before. Metropolis misspoke through an emotionally driven comment towards Japan and you're trying to get them kicked off the board. You probably even reported their post by now.

I don't really like that.

Metropolis knows not to discuss this anymore and should now know not to say "japan doesn't ever play fair" again.

Give metropolis a second chance, and kill the attitude. This is not something over which you should be turning into a prolonged fight.

There's a very long history of Japan Not Playing Fair with a number of Key Environmental and Economic issues. While it was definitely a stretch, there's plenty of emotion behind Metropolis' statements that are legitimized by Japan's own refusal to adopt a treaty friendly approach with these mega issues. Not to mention the absolute vulgarity of Japan's refusal to apologize for the genocide and crimes against humanity, while simultaneously denying the Rape of Nanking.

Both you and Metropolis forever were in the wrong. The difference is MF backed off, you didn't. You persisted in the argument to try to do something that is known as stirring the pot. When you stir it, you make it stink, and I don't like the smell.

You really need to come to terms with the fact that Japan has been incredibly abusive regarding their treaties and populace in the last 20 years. There are a lot of people who are very angry with japan, and you will find angry statements like this. You need to recognize those hurt feelings and then reject those statements while moving forward, not reject them and start tossing your testosterone around because of your personal views toward japan. That's how you actually make progress in Racial Discussion.

And, given your track record with me, David, it was a pretty legitimate assumption I made about your modus operandi, especially the way you came guns blazing in this thread.

I've been monitoring this thread for a little while now. This is the the off-topic forum, but this is waaaaay off-topic. This thread started as a discussion about Japan clamping down on copyright infringement and ended up in "japanese human experimentation" territory. It's against the spirit of the board and is hereby closed.

I'm issuing a warning to Kevin and Metropolis to tone down the political rhetoric.
