HORROR/SCIFI films Monday 7/19 on TCM

I never said that. I am no expert on these films, but it seems to me that the massive spaceships in them are a bit of a stretch. While they may be technically possible who is going to build them? Governments? Certainly not any democracy I know would ever see anything this massive to its completion. Had it not been for the cold war, it seems likely that we would not have put a man on the moon, or even in orbit. Now, without such motivation, I doubt that NASA will do much of anything in space.

Monarchies might be able to start something and actually bother to complete it, but which ones have the technology?
