Saruta, did you know there's a manga version of Phoenix 2772? I think I have the Japanese edition on my bookshelf.

I do know about it; Mikyruriya Satomi drew it. But I only saw some isolated scans. I really wish I could get a copy somehow.

Japanese is OK as I know the story; it's the drawing that is interesting. But as I understand it is well and truly out of print. AND not online, either. The wonders of copyright.

Ok, so I dug it out of my bookshelf and snapped a few pictures so we all know what we're talking about...

It is the manga by Mikyruriya Satomi and it's "bunko" size. It's in mint condition (I basically bought it wrapped in plastic off the shelf in Japan, took it home, flipped through it once and put it on the shelf...).



We have a long-standing tradition of helping other Tezuka fans find treasure here. I've lost track of how many Phoenix editions and Korean Astro Boy DVDs I've walked over to the post office over the years, and I've benefited from two B&W Astro Boy DVD boxsets as well (thanks cmoon, wherever you are~). Anyway, I paid 500 yen for it, which works out to roughly $5 CDN. So it's yours for that, plus whatever it costs me to send it the "slowest cheapest" way to wherever you are.
