I believe it is out now (or it shows up that way on Amazon.) I've placed an order for it, so hopefully I can give some feedback on it in the next week.

Yeah...that is weird. I got To Terra last week (I thought it was really good, by the way), and I pre-ordered it with Phoenix Volume 10 (of course, I had it set it to "ship as soon as items become available" - but I still should have been shipped Phoenix Volume 10 if other peoples have already shipped by now).

EDIT: Amazon sent me an e-mail telling me they are pushing back my order for pretty much no reason at all...I really don't understand why, since I pre-ordered it as soon as it was available for pre-order. Oh well.

Well, it arrived today, so it really did come out. Haven't read it yet, I'll edit with impressions.

Edit: wow, it was great, and I can't wait for part two (ugh...September?). I really liked the plot structure, and I liked how the historical and sci-fi parts were intertwined. I also thought the role of religion in the story was really interesting.

Thats interesting... they release "new" volumes but don't keep the old ones in print. Is there no way to catch up if you haven't been buying from the start?
Now I regret not buying when i saw it 2-3 years back...

A quick check at Amazon shows that only vol. 1 seems to be unavailable right now. Fortunately, the series is not continuous--each volume is self standing, and there is no reason they need to be read in any particular order.

Personally I suggest picking up vol. 2 & 4 without hesitation just on the grounds that they are among Tezuka's very best work.

Anyway, I seem to recall someone saying dawn will be reissued at some point anyway, so if you are jumping into the series, there is no reason you couldn't collect the others, then pick up dawn upon the reissue (or wait for a used copy to show up.)
