Nice work Ash! What's Hoek mean?

The only Hoek I know is Ren Hoek, who, along with good friend Stimpy, shot to fame in the early 1990's and then burned out long before his time.

Hoek = corner. Manga import corner. The magazine tends to have at least one import title reviewed each issue.

That's great that you were able to squeeze some Tezuka in there. Did they ask you to do something on Tezuka, or did you just submit the article first and then hope they picked yours?

Once in a while I just name some titles I'd like to write an article about to one of the editors. When I read PK, I of course mentioned I'd love to write about it, especially as the series is still quite up to date, that with the Japanese heir issue of last year and the Hello! Project/Takarazuka musical. They liked the idea and so it came to be

That and I always try to make some comments about how there should be more Tezuka love on the forum

It's my love for Tezuka and detective literature and manga what makes me famed and/or feared in the Dutch manga/anime internetcommunity

The American magazine "Newtype" thinks they're so cool, that they print their magazine backwards, just like in Japan. :roll:

Congratulations. Nice to see more Tezuka coverage. Last time I read an article about Tezuka was months ago in Animation Magazine.

Still very impressed there was coverage in time magazine (or at least their online edition) of Karma. Still, someone could really break some ground with a good primer written in english and publiished in a magazine that wasn't too niche.

Muahhaha, I just got an OK for an 2 page article about our favorite renegade doctor in the same magazine =D Now only to fit it in between exams/thesis writing and survey processing for a research!
