Postby David » Fri May 18, 2007 3:03 pm

All time best typo -, I almost wrote "All Life is Scared" - lol.
(but that would be a different discussion)

ok really,. Does anyone know the origin in print of the Tezuka quote,
"All Life is Sacred". ?

thanks,

David

Well, the first time I saw it was on the back cover of Buddha. That's a pretty hard question to answer though. Do you mean in English or the equivalent in Japanese?

Also, I don't believe he actually wrote it down in one of his works, but it's more or less attributed to him based on articles and interviews that deal with the overview of his body of work.

I have only ever seen it as a disembodied quote.
Certainly it represents his thinking but I wondered of it was
originally part of an essay - or did it come from a manga,
or something else.

Isn't it from Buddha? From the Enlightenment scene? It's also in Phoenix a couple times, I think. I wish I had my collection with me so I could double-check.

I think he may have said something similar in an interview at least once, as well.

Not sure when I first saw it... I think I've seen it on the back of Black Horse releases of manga but I'm pretty sure I'd seen it loooong before that as well.
Looking to trade Tezuka gashapon! I have spare Amazing Three (x2), Blackjack (x1) and Princess Knight (series 1 x1) pieces. Looking for the rest. Please PM me if interested!
