Maus is a good choice. I gave it once to my parents to read and they both liked it.

I also try to give Tezuka stuff as presents whenever I can. For example, I gave the French Black Jack vol 1-5 (for christmas and birthday XD) to a friend who wanted to train his French. He knows all about manga and comics but rarely reads them. But I'm happy to say he really enjoyed Black Jack. ^-^

Maus... You know, that's actually on the required reading list for a class at my college. ^^

But that was a great comic. I think I sat and read it in high school at the library [the one across the street, not the school library].

I think, given the opportunity, they'll probably start up with BJ translation again. Given the huge flood of english Tezuka stuff recently, they'd be pretty crazy to pass up such a great [and long] series.

Now it needs to become required reading for public high schools! No, not really, then all those kids would grow up to hate it...

I'd love to have a nice English set of BJ... I don't know that its longness would help it though. D: It would be competing against newer things like Fruits Basket and Naruto.

BJ is certainly more likely to be released in the US than any other long Tezuka title - the fact that there have already been DVDs out gives it prefab publicity, guaranteeing some sales, though not big sales.
