(In the background of the Lamp/BJ phonecall: *cough* *hack* *cough* *wheeze* *wheeze*)

As B.J. asked for "Lampie", Lamp got annoyed:

"Don't call me Lampie, you..."

OOC: I don't dare to make a long script. I think it's better to wait for Canti to get BJ's answer to this threat and continue from that (I think this will be a very funny phone conversation, between a quiet man (BJ) and an easily offended old fella (Lamp)!). Do you agree, Canti?

[Canti]

((OOC: Oh, I agree. Making things up as you go along can be oodles of fun.))

"Ah, detective," Black Jack replied calmly. "I thought it had been a while since you last contacted me. Are you warning me about arresting me again, or do you actually calling me for a rare favor?"

[putrocca]

Wato popped her head in through the hotel door. "Sapphire? Are you in here? Oh no!" She ran to Sapphire and, gently, tried to help her sit up. "This attack looks much worse than before!" Like Sapphire, Wato wore the grungy overalls which marked those coming from the dig, though her school uniform was still visible underneath, tattered and stained. "What should we do?"

Sapphire was not strong enough to sit, even with Wato's help, but did manage to extend a finger and point weakly at Lamp. "Calling... doctor..."

Pinoco hopped into the passenger's seat, and nearly crawled into Black Jack's lap to listen in on the call. "Who is it? Detective Lampie?" She too had taken habit to calling the official by the obnoxious pet-name. "Are you the one Sensei is gonna meet? Are you? What foooor?" She called into the phone in a loud voice.

Wato stared at Sapphire's handkerchief as if hypnotized by the sight of blood. "A doctor... uh... this is worse than... a doctor... will that be okay?"

[TruePrince]

Sapphire managed a smile, hearing Pinoko's shrill but still cute voice squeeling through Lamp's phone loud enough for the whole room to wince. "It's okay, Wato. I'm sure he'll *cough* call a good doctor..."

[Ataru Moroboshi]

Lamp's ear started to hurt as Pinoko screamed at the phone. However, he smiled. This was the basis for a good bribe: let they think they'll gonna be harmed:

"Yes, I'm going to arrest you. And I know you're here, very near. Poor little cute Pinoko! Are you going to let me take her to an orphanage bacause her fatherly figure is in jail? Do you want me to do it? Eh? I bet you don't, so... I offer you another of my tiny treats...".

[TruePrince]

"Arrest?" Sapphire looked to Wato, then over at Lamp still on the phone. "I thought you were calling a doctor."

[Ataru Moroboshi]

"Yes ma'am", said Lamp very politely as he covered the phone with one hand "But there's some special kind of doctors who need little threats if one wants to get their services at a good price. Please, let me help you. It's my duty as a law enforcer. You may think I'm evil. And I am. Just because I want to help people, I have to be a bad person. I always say that you can't defeat evil if you don't get evil yourself. Actually, I think this doctor is a bit like me..."

And then he added: "Don't worry about the little girl: I know what's being a father. I'm not going to harm her in any way".

Wato frowned suspiciously at Lamp's casual talk of evil, then looked to Sapphire nervously. "Is it going to be okay trusting this guy?"

[TruePrince]

Sapphire gazed hard at Lamp. "It's okay, Wato. I get the feeling we can trust him."

[Ataru Moroboshi]

Wato scowled at Lamp. "Who are you, anyway? You don't seem much like a cop to me, and you look sort-of familiar but I haven't seen you around this town before. Are you another one of these get-rich-quick idiots trying to stick your nose into the dig? How many times do we have to tell you people it's NOT a pile of gold, it's archaology!"
