This has to be a joke article right? I mean, some scientists are just poking fun, aren't they? Seriously, human-robot marriage? I mean, I suppose it depends on the level of artificial intelligence robots will have at that point (assuming this ISN'T a joke).
Even if robots had artificial intelligence like the robots in Astro Boy, this creates a whole floodgate of problems. If you were to say allow a human to have sex with and marry a robot, this raises the question of are robots living things, or do they just appear to be with artificial intelligence? This is like Tezuka's premise coming to life.
We're going to have lobbyists for robot rights, and Pat Robertson Jr. will be vehemently trying to ban robot-human marriage. I can see the slogans now " In the garden, it was Adam and Eve, not Adam and a Toaster"
