As a lightning fast gunslingers, Lemon Kid is a specialist in playing the (cow)boy hero role. Although he grew up idolizing Melon Kid, one of the toughest outlaw bandits on the American frontier, Lemon's innate sense of justice eventually wins out over his boyhood desire to emulate his antihero and leads him away from a life of crime.
The consummate lawman, Aggo is upstanding and righteous, but he is also hot tempered and quick to anger. Despite a slight weakness for alcohol, the merest drop of which will put him to sleep, Aggo is almost always cast as an authority figure. He is most often seen as a Sherrif in the Old West, but on occasion he will take on roles such as a school principle or a doctor.
Modelled after L'il Abner, with his goofy swagger and clean-cut good looks, "Cactus" Sam claims the middle ground Tezuka's "boy hero" protagonist roles.
