Terry and the Pirates Vol. 1

Anyone know where I can find a copy of the Complete Terry and the Pirates Vol. 1? It seems to be out of stock everywhere. I'm guessing this is very much like the Phoenix vol. 7 fiasco from a last year... A book nearly no one wants out of stock and impossible to find.

Classic comic strips are good! I've been reading the original E.C.Segar's Popeye strip (from 1928!) as well as Little Nemo in Slumberland (from 1905!).

I remember seeing it in a bookstore a year or so ago; strange that it went out of print so quickly. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Yeah, I love classic comic strips. I'm caught up on The Complete Peanuts, and I'm working my way through Krazy and Ignatz. I really should check out Popeye and Little Nemo.

I took a look at that website, Kevin - but the fact that they only mention local UK shipping made me pretty nervous... I can just imagine how much shipping on a big heavy hardcover book is between the UK and Canada.

However, I was able to stumble across for $35 + $7 shipping. There was "Only 1 copy @ $35" so I just about killed myself running down the stairs to go grab my creidt card.

I thought about asking "how used is used?" but I had a sneaky feeling that if I waited to ask questions it'd be gone... and I've actually heard of Powell's bookstore - so I'm pretty confident they won't send me a copy that was run over by their delivery truck.

Anyway, I've got my confirmation email and the site no longer lists it as available, so hopefully it'll be showing up in my mailbox soon...

I received my copy of Terry and the Pirates v1 yesterday and I have to say I'm very pleased. It's a used copy, but not any more beat up than any other books of mine that's been read. There's a slight bit of what I'd call "shelf wear" but no tears/rips/creases.

All in all I'm very happy I was able to find a near new copy for a reasonable price.

I might take you up on your offer in the future though, grapeofdeath... Powell's has become my favourite "if you can't find it anywhere else" shop.
