Feel free to email me directly - I also operate an anime/manga oriented business called "Manga Search" though these days I have narrowed my focus to just shitajiki (pencilboards)
http://www.shitajiki.biz/
I'm used to many kind of payments - and this likely applies to many people you might buy from in Japan or elsewhere.
- most people use paypal - love it or hate - I can't live without it.
- International Postal Money Orders - not all countries use them but very convenient in Japan.
- bank to bank transfers - Japanese banks are a pain and there may be charges on both ends, work around this option if possible
- personal checks, checks drawing on bank funds, - not possible or so difficult and pricey as to not be worth the effort
- concealed cash in an envelope - reasonable from some countries for small amounts, to someone you trust, buyer must accept risk, conceal by folding over and taping inside a card, no coins, make sure it can not be seen if shaken or held to a light
- and here's one that you didn't think of - if you have a credit card but not paypal (or you can pay a friend of family member to do this) go to Amazon.com and buy a gift card in the exact amount you want and send to the seller. Works for me.
