Awesome success of "Dororo" in Japan's theaters lead to the trilogy's trend.

Live Action Dororo To Become Trilogy : 2nd And 3rd Films Confirmed
Starring cast Satoshi Tsumabuki, Kou Shibasaki, Kiichi Nakai and Mieko Harada, and director Akihiko Shiota will all return for the 2nd and 3rd Dororo films. Production will startup next year, look for a release of part 2 in 2009. Universal Pictures has acquired the North American distribution rights to the series. Dororo 1 has dominated the Japanese Box Office in 1st place for 4 weeks running. As of the 22nd Toho has revealed two million people have paid to see the film on the big screen, leading to a box office revenue total of 2.5 billion Yen. They expect to make 3.5 billion Yen before it exits the cinema circuit. The budget for 2 and 3 together is estimated to be around 6 billion Yen. Part 1 was made for 2 billion Yen.
