Dan

Brave and strong, Dan is a former circus tiger who is loyal to a fault. After Kyotan saves Dan from a forest fire, the two strike up an uneasy alliance. Although Dan has a healthy distrust of humans after his years in captivity, he is impressed by Kyotan's honest integrity and the two become fast friends. When Kyotan learns more about his heritage, the pair are virtually inseparable as they search for the keys to the ancient treasure of the Ainu people.
