Hanawa Omoshi
Despite being perpetually cast in small supporting roles, Hanawa Takashi is nonetheless quite well-known, having earned the nickname "the master of fainting". While generally timid and prone to panic, Hanawa has made a career out of his uncanny ability to faint at the first sign of danger and fall face-first onto his rather impressive nose, squashing it into an accordion in the process. This makes him a perfect choice to be cast in such roles as a servant, henchman or some other kind of assistant - especially when they call for a bit of comedic timing.
Doctor
Doctor is a man who has really let his career determine his identity. Little is known about this life outside his profession. However, he does seem to have a quite an anxious and frantic and personality - often making a mountain out of a mole-hill.
Akashi
Based on an early classmate of Osamu Tezuka, Akashi is the leader of a school gang. With the entire school terrified of him, he preys on the students who are weaker and smaller than he is. However, Akashi does have a secret love of manga and eventually becomes friends with Osamu Tezuka - especially after Tezuka draws him a picture of his beautiful fantasy girl, Kumiko.
Garon
Being basically a weapon in rock-giant-form, Garon is pretty stoic. In fact, you might even say that Pick is really the key to his heart. However, when Pick's not there to guide him, Garon is emotionally cold and distant - perfect for him to be cast as a giant space monster adversary for Tezuka's heroes, Astro Boy and Magma.
Echizen Gani
As a reliable supporting Star, Echizen Gani has usually been cast in roles that benefit from a steady hand, such as a teacher, a doctor, or a stage manager. In fact, his early interactions with Black Jack were shaped by his “by-the-book” mentality. Although, at first, he was wary of the dark doctor’s lack of an actual medical license, he gradually came to respect and admire him.
