Barbara
Also known as ばるぼら (Barubora)
Hello, My Name (in English) is…
Despite the fact that she seems to be sporting an English name, the pronunciation in Japanese (barubora) is reminiscent of the kind of gibberish an uncultured “barbarian” might utter.
Distinguishing Features
The cute yet enigmatic Barbara is recognizable by her mop-top hair and slightly vacant expression.
Status: Primary Star (★★★)
A bewitching and enchanting woman, Barbara is, at the same time, both an artist’s muse and a slutty alcoholic. She can inspire men to greatness while driving them to madness, and ultimately leave them begging for to return – something that her co-star Yosuke Mikura learns all too well.
Notable Roles
Simply unforgettable as the titular star of Barbara (1973-74), Barbara has also made several appearances in Black Jack (1973-83).
