Hell, Madame
Also known as ヘル夫人 (Heru Fujin)
Hello, My Name (in English) is…
Hell. The prefect name for a femme fatale.
Distinguishing Features
You can spot Madame Hell by her sharp pointed chin, eyes with lashes that go all the way around, and the sharp part in her hair.
Status: Secondary Star (★★)
Beautiful but corrupt, Madame Hell uses her charms for evil rather than good. As a classic femme fatale, she is perfectly at home in roles that call on her to use her evil charm, such as spy, witch, or some other type of criminal. She also displays a strong maternal instinct – albeit a corrupted one.
Notable Roles
Although most readers will be more familiar with Madame Hell’s role as the witch and main antagonist of the Princess Knight [Nakayoshi] (1963-66) remake, taking over for the less effective Mephisto who held the role in the original Princess Knight [Shojo Club] (1953-56) version. However, she actually made her debut almost a decade earlier in The Devil of the Earth (1954) as the unforgettable Ms. Sorge – the head of an international spy ring gathering information on the secret underground city. She’s also made a few appearances in Black Jack (1973-83) and The Rainbow Parakeet (1981-82).
